Navicore has developed the technology platform to effectively deploy a complete navigation experience in devices with limited critical resources - processig power, run-time memory, screen size and storage. Sophisticated map compression – Enables the storage of large map areas in devices with low storage capability – storing 20 GB of standard navigation database information to less than 250 MB in the Navicore format.
Fast routing engine – Enables fast route calculation and re-routing on devices with low run-time memory. Routes spanning hundreds of miles are calculated in seconds with realtively little memory requirements.
Fast map rendering engine – Enables rapid rendering of very detailed spatial information on the display. The result is smooth map browsing and zooming for a great user experience.
Real mobile spatial database – Enables dynamic storage of third party content and rendering it to the map (e.g. POIs) – the cornerstone of the content ecosystem in map-centric applications and user interfaces.
Navicore online services environment
Interactive online services enrich the mobile phoned-based navigation user experience and significantly differ Navicore Personal from dedicated GPS navigation devices. Navicore's online services are delivered to the Navicore Personal customers from a high availability service environment, consisting of fully redundant, load balanced application server and Oracle RAC database clusters.
The whole services environment has been designed to provide content and services, like for instance traffic information and dynamic points-of-interest, from several different sources, and new service providers can be connected to the platform on a modular fashion.
Navicore service environment by definition enables dynamic service provision and update to the Navicore Personal mobile phone clients and offers flexible service billing options through premium SMS or credit card payment. Thereby Navicore's online services are compatible and easy to apply also into a mobile operator's service offering.
