FAQ - Installation

First of all check that your device time and date are ok. Open your phone file manager -> memory card and locate file Navicore_S60_3_0_V_2.sis or newer and select it. Installation starts now manually.

If installation still fails. Open phone App. manager -> Options -> Settings -> Software Installation -> All. Check that All is selected.

Step by step guide

In certain phone models the memory card is accessible even when the power is switched on (e.g. Nokia N-Gage QD, Nokia 6630, Nokia N70, Nokia N90 and Siemens SX1). Check the user manual of your phone if this is allowed, the above mentioned phones do support switching card with the power on.

Please ensure first that your mobile phone is compatible with Navicore Personal by checking this list. If your phone is not listed as compatible, it is also likely it does not have a suitable memory card slot and you should not attempt installing the card in your phone.

Please note that all phones have always also a slot for the SIM-card. Newer phones use the smaller RS-MMC (reduced size MMC) format cards. These resemble SIM-cards, but are not interchangeable or fit in each other's slots.

The Navicore Personal package is marked with the type of card it ships with. Please check your phone's user manual to see if it supports the same size. In case you have purchased a full-size MMC card and your phone supports only RS-MMC cards, you can go to the retailerwhere you purchased the product for an exchange. Please note that the pricing may be different for different card types.

Yes, you can install other files on the card if there is space left. Please note that space left on the card is dependent on the map you are using.

Nokia 9300 and Nokia 9500 phones do not read the memory card unless the battery cover has been properly closed. Please check the battery cover and if necessary, try to reboot the phone once.

Space requirement depends on the map you use. Different maps (including Navicore Personal program) require approximately the following amount of space:

Skandinavia 180 Mb
Alps 210 Mb
Benelux 125 Mb
France  252 Mb
Germany 245 Mb
Spain and Portugal 145 Mb
Italy 225 Mb
UK and Ireland 140 Mb

Space required will depend on program version. The figures given are estimates from the program version 1.2.

Mobile phones require a FAT file system on the card. If you format a card with Windows XP, it will be by default formatted with FAT32 that is incompatible with phones. Please reformat your card with your phone or choose Windows settings that reformat the card to FAT.

Yes. If you want to change to different version eg. from 2005 to 2006, you must restart your phone before Navicore can operate properly.
