March 9, 2006 - Navicore, the mobile navigation provider, today announced the opening of a new online service channel designed to help users to update and upgrade their Navicore Personal products.

The new online service channel will offer consumers a convenient, fast and affordable way to update, personalize and extend their mobile navigation products. For example, an update can be a new map version of the same geographical area, and an extension can be a new map covering a new region. 

The existing Navicore users can now upgrade their current 2005 products to 2006/1 version of Navicore Personal, also announced today, to take advantage of whole range of new features, including: traffic information[1] and dynamic routing, easily over-the-air updated safety camera information[2] as well as updated Tele Atlas maps[3]. The upgrade is available for 89€ (inc VAT) on a MMC memory card or 79€ (inc VAT) on a CD-ROM and 69€ (inc VAT) as a direct file download from the Navicore online service channel to PC.

In addition to map updates, the online service channel offers consumers a single source for software downloads which come in useful for example when users want to continue using Navicore Personal 2006/1 on a new phone with a different operating system version. It also offers a convenient and guaranteed backup for users in case a phone has been changed, lost or stolen.   

From Navicore’s on-line service channel a user can also download feature extensions like additional POI (Point-of-interest) database files and new voice sets for navigation.
